Happy Feast! St. Francis Xavier Day!

December 3 – Xavier school and other Jesuit schools celebrate today the feast day of the Patron of Missions, St. Francis Xavier. Different symbols come to our minds when we here about the great journey of this Saint – bell, Bible, cross and even a crab. That’s right! St. Francis Xavier shared a story with a crab, which gave him back his cross that was lost at the sea.

The school had an institutional mass for Grades 3 up to High 4, while for Grade 2, we had a simple but meaningful prayer service. For our prayer service, we had the traditional acrostic describing the saintly and humble qualities of Xavier. I must say that we had our share of sacrifices as we practiced the acrostic. Well, in the end, the prayer service was well executed. The boys were able to appreciate and thank God for the gift of St. Francis Xavier.

The traditional acrostic was handed down to us by previous CLE teachers. We acknowledge their great contribution. For the acrostic here it is:
